Date Sep. 3, 1992.A device for opening flocculent fibrous materials, including a housing and a supply connection pipe having an end extending into a lower portion of the housing for introducing into the housing a negative pressure transport air current conveying fiber flocks. A hollow cylinder is provided that has one end connected to the end of the supply connection pipe, an open end opposite to the one end, and a diameter larger than a diameter of the end of the supply connection pipe. The hollow cylinder forms an annular chamber within the housing. The device further includes a discharge connection pipe connectable to the housing for discharging the fibrous material. The housing, supply connection pipe, hollow cylinder and discharge connection pipe collectively define a pneumatic conveying path for the fibrous material. Additionally provided is a drivable opening disc disposed within the housing and positioned at a distance from and parallel to the open end of the hollow cylinder to extend across the open end. The disc includes a plurality of pointed spikes each projecting towards the hollow cylinder for processing material as it is conveyed along the pneumatic conveying path.

Un dispositif pour l'ouverture d'une matière fibreuse floconneuse composée de fibres naturelles ou synthétiques, est monté dans un couloir transporteur pneumatique, pour la transformation de ladite matière, par l'intermédiaire d'une tubulure de raccordement d'amenée (5) et d'une tubulure de raccordement de dérivation (9). A cet effet, sur la tubulure de raccordement d'amenée (5) est raccordé un cylindre creux ouvert vers le haut (7) s'étendant dans une enveloppe cylindrique (2) reliée à la tubulure de raccordement de déviation (9), tout en formant une chambre annulaire (8). A l'intérieur de l'enveloppe (2) est monté, à une distance déterminée, parallèlement au côté frontal dégagé du cylindre creux (7), un disque-ouvreur (19) commandé, recouvrant ledit côté, et garni de tiges pointues (29) s'étendant en direction du cylindre creux (7).
