Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0572936A1] Two profile pieces (1a, 1b) of identical cross-section adjoin one another by means of a coupling piece (16) which lies in a coupling groove (15) so as to overlap both of them. The convexly curved bottom of the coupling groove (15) is formed by the underside of a transverse web (5), the top side of which forms a running surface (6) for supporting rollers (13) of running gears (10). The coupling groove (15) is limited downwards by lateral holding strips (18a, b) which have plane, inwardly inclined holding faces (19a, b) which point towards the bottom of the coupling groove (15) and against which press corresponding contact strips (20a, b) of the coupling piece (16) which is braced against the holding strips (18a, b) of each of the profile pieces (1a, 1b) by means of two respective tapping screws (17a-d) pressing against the bottom of the coupling groove (15). The coupling groove (15) is followed at the bottom by a guide groove (9) for receiving guide rollers (14a). For the purpose of allowing an especially stable connection of the profile pieces, for example in the case of a rail supported only at particular points by means of sliding blocks (23) which are arranged in a fastening groove and into which threaded bolts (25) engage, the profile pieces can be provided with two coupling grooves (15, 15') arranged at a distance one above the other. <IMAGE>
