Abstract (en)

The invention relates to a mechanical self-destruction system for a munition piece, particularly for a cargo-shell submunition piece, the munition piece being provided with a military charge (4) initiated by a pyrotechnic chain (1) comprising a main striker (2) and a priming device which consists of a slide (3) movable between a safety position and an arming position and which carries a means (6) for priming the charge (4). The system (10) comprises a secondary striker (15) mounted inside a receptacle (5b) of the slide (5) and a control device (16) for releasing the secondary striker (15) after a predetermined delay. The secondary striker (15) is integral with a retaining element (25) kept bearing on a seat (28) under the stress of an arming spring (26), the control device (16) of the secondary striker (15) comprising a corrosive agent (30) intended for attacking the retaining element (25) chemically in order to release it from its seat (28). <IMAGE>
