[origin: EP0573779A1] The invention relates to a plugging means for metallurgical vessels with a bottom closure, the plugging means being intended for the reliable freeing of the pouring channel on opening the bottom closure. The plugging means according to the invention consists of a main body (1) of shell-like or tubular design which, at its two ends, has bent folds (2) at an angle of about 90 DEG to the inner circumferential surface, and a flexible hose (3) filled with slide sand or some other filling material is placed in the main body (1) formed in this way. <IMAGE>
