[origin: EP0573957A1] An apparatus for the abrasive blasting of materials by means of an abrasive medium which is mixed with a liquid and contains, in particular, granulate-type abrasion particles is characterised in that the liquid-inflow opening (22) is designed as a peripheral gap and is delimited by nozzle elements (3, 3', 4, 4') which can move relative to one another and can be fixed in the relevant position, and in that the cross-section, through which flow occurs, of the liquid-inflow opening (22) can be changed by the relative movement of said nozzle elements (3, 3', 4, 4'). In the region of its mouth, the liquid-inflow opening is aligned in parallel with the wall which is located behind the liquid-inflow opening (22), seen in the direction of flow of the abrasive medium, and belongs to the cavity (12), with the result that a liquid shroud protecting said wall of the cavity (12) is formed.
