[origin: EP0574629A1] A mortise lock for a door has a latch bolt (39), auxiliary bolt (41) and deadlock bolt (43). Latch bolt (39) is secured against retraction by deadlocking lever claw (73) until deadlocking lever (63) is rotated by door handle (29). Deadlocking lever (63) also has a finger (71) engaging a recess (77) of auxiliary bolt (41) to prevent extension thereof unless the handle is turned. Extension of deadlock bolt (43) is controlled by a turnbolt via a circular peg (101) engaging arcuate detents (93, 91, 89). An emergency lever (107) when operated abuts portion (81, 87) of the deadlock bolt and the latch bolt to prevent retraction thereof except on turning the handle from inside the door or from outside having first set an emergency combination on an external electrical combination lock (100). <IMAGE>
