Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0575632A1] 1. Skin the fish by machine or hand and weigh. 2. Introduce the skins with plenty of salt into boxes or other containers. 3. Add an amount of water between 50% and 90% of the weight of the skins and between 0.5% and 5% of a soap at a speed of 0.5 to 5 rpm, period of rotation 1-2 hours. 4. Discharge the water. 5. Between 30% and 150% of water relative to the starting weight of the skins, the salt to be added is such as to produce 7/7.5 8E (Beaumé). Start the rotation of the tanning drum at 1 rpm. Add dilute sulphuric acid to produce a pH of 2.8. The period of rotation depended on reaching the desired pH. 6. Add a chrome tannin in powder form based on chromium sulphate in a proportion between 1% and 2.5%. Period of rotation between 30 minutes and 10 hours at 1 rpm. 7. Add between 0.1% and 2% of a fungicide/algicide diluted with water, then 2%-3% of a self-basifying chrome tannin (chromium sulphate tannin in powder form), allow to rotate together for 2-5 hours at 1 rpm. 8. Add a chromium oxide-containing tannin 7.2% thereof between 1% and 10%, leave the liquid in the drum between 2 hours and 20 hours. Speed of rotation: 3 rpm. 9. Add between 1% and 15% of a synthetic fat after 2-15 minutes. 10. Add water in an amount between 10% and 300%. Water temperature between 25 DEG C and 70 DEG C, 5 to 7 rpm, period of rotation 12-18 hours. 11. Discharge the liquid. 12. Introduce between 50% and 400% of water, temperature between 30 DEG C and 80 DEG C, add a neutralising retannin (chromium-containing, light fast, synthetic, with particularly good chromium exhaustion) between 1% and 10%, sufficient for the pH to be 6. pH = 6. Increase speed to 10 rpm. 13. Discharge liquid. 14. Add between 50% and 500% of water, temperature between 30 DEG C and 70 DEG C, a combination of selected natural fats, dissolved beforehand in an amount between 1% and 30% thereof in water, at a water temperature of between 50 DEG C and 80 DEG C. Then we further add straight-chain hydrocarbons which have been identified as synthetic fat, in an amount between 1% and 30%. Period of rotation between 30 minutes and 3 hours.
