Abstract (en)
A short-term store for banknotes (2), which can be used in banknote readers, comprises a transport system (11), an intermediate store (1) and a control unit (26). A rotatable roller (8) with endless bands (9) laid on one side against the cylindrical surface (16) of the roller (8), a switch (10) and a drive unit (24) as well as sensors (27; 34) connected to the control unit (26) constitute the intermediate store (1). The endless bands (9) retain the banknotes (2), stored in a bundle (12), on the roller (8). The drive unit (24) can set the roller (8) in rotation in one of the two directions of rotation (13; 14). By means of one complete revolution of 360 DEG , the banknote (2) fed by the transport system (11) is stored in the intermediate store (1) on the cylindrical surface (16), the successively stored banknotes (2) forming the bundle (12). When the roller (8) executes one complete revolution in the opposite direction, the bundle (12) is passed back through a mouth (23) of the intermediate store (1) to the transport system (11). <IMAGE>
Abstract (de)
Ein bei Banknotenlesegeräten verwendbarer Kurzzeitspeicher für Banknoten (2) umfasst ein Transportsystem (11), einen Zwischenspeicher (1) und ein Steuergerät (26). Eine drehbare Walze (8) mit einseitig an die Zylinderfläche (16) der Walze (8) gelegten Endlosbändern (9), eine Weiche (10) und eine Antriebseinheit (24) sowie mit dem Steuergerät (26) verbundene Sensoren (27; 34) bilden den Zwischenspeicher (1). Die Endlosbänder (9) halten die in einem Bündel (12) gespeicherten Banknoten (2) auf der Walze (8) fest. Die Antriebseinheit (24) kann die Walze (8) in eine der beiden Drehrichtungen (13; 14) in Umdrehung versetzen. Mit einer vollen Umdrehung von 360° wird im Zwischenspeicher (1) die vom Transportsystem (11) zugeführte Banknote (2) auf der Zylinderfläche (16) gespeichert, wobei die nacheinander gespeicherten Banknoten (2) das Bündel (12) bilden. Vollführt die Walze (8) eine volle Umdrehung in der entgegengesetzten Richtung, wird das Bündel (12) durch eine Mündung (23) des Zwischenspeichers (1) hindurch an das Transportsystem (11) zurückgegeben. <IMAGE>
