The invention relates to a method for applying self-adhesive labels (labels) to containers, especially to bottles, the (first) label to be applied to the outer surface of the container being dispensed by a label-tape carrier drawn around a dispensing edge and being fed to a pressure pad which receives the label and which feeds it to the outer surface of the container. Provision is made for moving the pressure pad (4) into an overlap position relative to the dispensing edge (3), in which it receives the label (2), preferably with the formation of a vacuum, and for the pressure pad (4) provided with the label (2) to be displaced subsequently into a passing position, so that it can be displaced past the dispensing edge (3) into a pressing position, in which it attaches the label (2) to the outer surface (9) of the container (10). <IMAGE>

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum Aufbringen von Selbstklebeetiketten (Etiketten) auf Behälter, insbesondere auf Flaschen, wobei das auf die Mantelfläche des Behälters aufzubringende (erste) Etikett von einem um eine Spendekante herumgezogenen Etikettenbandträger gespendet und einem Andrückkissen zugeführt wird, das das Etikett übernimmt und der Mantelfläche des Behälters zuführt. Es ist vorgesehen, daß das Andrückkissen (4) in eine Überlapposition zur Spendekante (3) bewegt wird, in der es das Etikett (2), vorzugsweise unter Ausbildung eines Vakuums, übernimmt, und daß das mit Etikett (2) versehene Andrückkissen (4) anschließend in eine Passierstellung verlagert wird, so daß es an der Spendekante (3) vorbei in eine Andrückstellung verlagerbar ist, in der es das Etikett (2) an die Mantelfläche (9) des Behälters (10) anheftet. <IMAGE>
