[origin: EP0576319A1] - Device (16) for changing direction for a vehicle (18) mechanically forced to follow a track. - According to the invention, there is provided a vehicle-steering member which, for example, takes the form of a roller (24) movable axially between two vertical positions (N1, N2), so as to be received selectively in guide grooves arranged at different levels, so as to cause a change in direction of the vehicle (18) as a function of the vertical position occupied by the guide rollers (24). - The invention is used particularly in a system for the fixed-track travel of an automatic urban vehicle for the transport of passengers and of the type comprising at least two tangent travel loops. <IMAGE>
