[origin: EP0576345A1] The electrical connector comprises an insulating shell (case) (10) pierced with parallel passages for receiving electrical terminals (16) and a retention plate (12) which can be inserted into the shell as far as a forward position in which it is retained, the said plate being pierced with holes for receiving the said terminals being prolonged towards the front by springy (elastic) fingers for retaining the terminals (16) by a snap-fastening mechanism, the said fingers having a shape matching that of the passages so as to be able to penetrate into the passages and to be held therein in the position in which they hold the terminals when the plate is in its forward position. The holes include a shoulder, facing rearwards, for the abutment of a corresponding step provided on the terminals, in the position where the fingers are snap-fastened to the terminals. <IMAGE>
