[origin: EP0576793A1] Mortise bowl (10) for furniture hinges, consisting of thin-walled sheet steel with a bowl part (12), which is to be fastened countersunk in a recess in the inside of a door wing and in the side walls (18) of which at least one bearing pin is retained for the purpose of mounting on the door wing members of a joint mechanism connecting the mortise bowl pivotably to a body attachment part, the particular end of the bearing pin to be retained engaging into a bore (22; 20) in the side wall (18) of the bowl part. The wall of the bowl part (12) is reinforced, in the region of the bore (22; 20) receiving the associated pin end, by means of a tab (26; 28) which is cut free out of the wall region adjoining the region of the bowl part (12) provided with the bore (22; 20) and which is bent round so as to bear in parallel against the region provided with the bore (22; 20). A bore (22; 20) aligned with the bore in the wall of the bowl part is provided for the bearing pin in the respective tab (26; 28).
