[origin: EP0576824A1] Printing quality control devices for printed sheets (1), preferably in a rotary printing machine for perfecting, wherein a straight sheet-conveying route is provided in a region between a chain wheel (6) and a horizontal sheet-conveying route. Above and below a movement path of the printed sheets within a region of the straight sheet-conveying route, there are provided video cameras (13; 19) with a CCD surface sensor (9; 11), which can be driven in cycles aligned with the movement path, and in each case a flash-light source synchronised with the video camera and a device for the selective detection of printing guides or printed lines on a sheet to be checked and for triggering a command to the video camera to take a picture and a command for triggering a flash by the flash-light device. <IMAGE>
