[origin: EP0576878A1] In order to simplify the adjustment of the die (12, 13, 14) and the ram (17) in an extrusion press, the following means are provided: - a receiving block (5) is held on the press table (1), in the die installation space (3, 4), with ram-side attachment to the ram (2) and fixed by means of clamping elements (7), - the receiving block (5) is provided with a recess (23) and guide means (22, 24) for the reception of a clamping support (6) which supports a part (13, 17) of the die, - supported on each of two oblique sliding surfaces (30), extending at an angle to the insertion direction (52) of the clamping support (6), in a lower part of the recess (23) there is a respective clamping wedge (29) displaceable by means of adjusting means (31, 33, 39 and 32, 37 respectively) in their longitudinal direction, - the clamping support (6) is placed against the clamping wedges (29) by means of likewise oblique sliding surfaces (34) of the said support, - the insertion side (52) for the clamping support (6) on the receiving block (5) is closed by a cover plate (10) for adjustment and operation, - provided in or on the cover plate (10) are flexible pressure elements (28) which act on the clamping support (6) in such a way as to press up against the wedges (29). <IMAGE>
