Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0577999A2] 2.1. The handling of reels (10) of a wound web, in particular of packaging material, is carried out using a reel conveyor (35) with a precisely positionable, downwardly directed bearing trunnion (41). The latter enters a centre opening (11) of the reel (10) and grasps the latter. The bearing trunnion (41) can be precisely aligned, by means of independently actuable pressure-medium cylinders (47, 48, 49), with the particular position of the reel (10) or of a working trunnion (33) of a packaging machine or the like. 2.2. The working trunnion (33) is driven rotatably on the packaging machine and can be simultaneously tilted between an upright position and two opposite horizontal positions. <IMAGE>
