Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0578373A1] An exhaust brake valve comprises a body (10) having a butterfly (13) pivotable therein. The butterfly spindle (14) is offset from the axis of symmetry of the body (10). A radially inwardly directed internal projection (31) provides a seat for the butterfly in the closed condition, and for small butterfly openings gives a gas escape path of larger area than if the butterfly (13) were pivotable in a plain bore. <IMAGE>
