Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0578947A1] A bathtub lift (2) has a bottom frame (4), a liftable and lowerable seat (6) provided with a backrest (18), a linkage joining the bottom frame (4) and the seat (6) in articulated fashion, a lifting unit (14) operated with compressed water and arranged between the bottom frame (4) and the seat (6), and a control unit for operation of the lifting unit (14). In order to lower the seat in a manner that is physiologically more favourable and safer and, furthermore, to facilitate climbing-in or climbing-out and operation of the bathtub lift (2) the linkage is formed by two front and two rear struts (10) and (12) rotatably connected to the bottom frame (4) and the seat (6), the front struts (10) are arranged vertically and inclined backwards in the upper lifting position of the seat (6) and the rear struts (12) are longer than the front struts (10) and the distance between the upper pivot points (10') and (12') of the front and rear struts (10, 12) is larger than the distance between the lower pivot points (10'') and (12'') of the front and rear struts (10, 12). The seat (6) is designed so as to be rotatable and/or displaceable in the longitudinal direction. <IMAGE>
