[origin: EP0579112A1] The invention relates to a road finisher with a chassis (1) which is provided, at the front, with a skip (5) having pivotable side-wall sections and intended for receiving material (11) to be placed and is provided, at the rear, with a laying beam (4), a conveyor being provided between the skip (5) and a distributing worm located in front of the laying beam (4) in the direction of travel, the skip (5) being open towards the conveyor and the laying beam (4) having laterally extendable extension beams (13). To be able to close ditches situated at the side of a roadway or construct flanks without terrain or space problems occurring, provision is made for the skip (5) to be partly or wholly removable and replaceable by a skip (7) which is closed at the bottom and can tilt towards one side and, on the side to which the skip (7) closed at the bottom can tilt, for a striking-off means (16), situated in front of the corresponding extension beam (13) in the direction of travel, to be attachable to the latter. <IMAGE>
