[origin: US5286200A] A rotary kiln with primary air feed at the end wall of the rotary kiln is distinguished by the feature that at least two primary air nozzles are oriented relative to each other and to the fuel bed so that two oppositely directed vortices are generated within the rotary kiln, the axes of rotation of said vortices extending substantially parallel to the axis of the rotary kiln and said vortices rotating about said axes of rotation so as to promote the thermal convection-induced motion of the combustion gases.
[origin: US5286200A] A rotary kiln with primary-air introduction on the end wall of the rotary tube is characterised in that at least two primary-air nozzles are directed in relation to one another and to the fuel bed in such a manner that two swirls running in opposite directions are created in the rotary tube, the axes of rotation of which run essentially parallel to the axis of the rotary tube and which rotate about these axes of rotation in such a manner that they support the thermal-induced movement of the combustion gases.

Ein Drehrohrofen mit Primärlufteinleitung an der Stirnwand des Drehrohres zeichnet sich dadurch aus, daß mindestens zwei Primärluftdüsen so zueinander und zum Brennstoffbett gerichtet sind, daß zwei gegenläufige Wirbel im Drehrohr entstehen, deren Drehachsen im wesentlichen parallel zur Achse des Drehrohres verlaufen und die so um diese Drehachsen drehen, daß sie die thermikinduzierte Bewegung der Brenngase unterstützen.
