[origin: EP0580053A1] A method for producing the plug (1) or a coupling socket for electrical plug devices having a cable (3) whose cable end region (2) is surrounded, such that the material is integral, by a housing consisting of insulating material which can be cast or injection-moulded, has the following method steps: - the cable end region (2) is fitted into the intermediate space (interspace) (18) between two flat strips (4) which are aligned such that they are approximately superimposed and consist of the housing material, the cable (3) and its contact elements (19) running essentially at right angles to the longitudinal direction (5) of the flat strips (4), - the flat strips (4) are connected to one another, such that the material is integral, with the interposition of the cable end region (2), - the sandwich-like composite part which is formed from the cable end region (2) and the flat strip regions surrounding it is cut off by means of a cut running transversely with respect to the longitudinal direction (5) of the flat strips (4), - the connection of the flat strips (4) such that the material is integral and the cutting-off of the complete composite part take place in one process. <IMAGE>
