Abstract (en)
A silver halide photographic material comprising a support and a silver halide emulsion layer provided thereon. The silver halide emulsion is prepared by nuclear formation, crystal growth and chemical sensitization. All or a part of the nuclear formation or the crystal growth is conducted in the presence of a hexa-coordinated cyano-complex to introduce the complex into crystal lattice of the silver halide. The chemical sensitization is conducted using a gold sensitizer. The silver halide emulsion is prepared using a synthetic polymer as a protective colloid in place of gelatin. Even though gelatin is used in preparation of the emulsion, the amount of gelatin is not more than 10 g per 1 mol of silver.
