A roller (13) for holding and guiding the end of the material of the cylinder reel (A) is set at the top end of a swivel frame (22) located near the unwinding device and cylinder. The holding roller moves to and fro between a position near the cylinder and a position away from the cylinder. Underneath the roller (13) there is an extension arm (15) swivel mounted on the swivel frame and having at its end remote from same a work table (50) which can be a rotatable roller with work face (16') provided with markings such as pins and bores for attaching an adhesive strip to provide the splicing connection.

Es wird zur Herstellung einer Bahnverbindung ein Klebeband verwendet, das im wesentlichen nur einseitig eine Klebeschicht (3) aufweist. Die Deckfolie dieser Klebeschicht besteht aus zwei Teilen (4 und 5), die durch eine Längsnaht (9) getrennt sind. Es ist auf der anderen Seite des Trägers (Band 2) der Klebeschicht (3) mindestens ein schmaler Klebestreifen (7), ebenfalls mit Deckfolie (8), aufgebracht, der sich vorzugsweise an einer Kante des Klebebandes (1) befindet. <IMAGE>
