Abstract (en)
[origin: DE4033900A1] The splice joins the leading end of a fresh coiled web to the trailing one of an old coil, using an adhesive tape glued under the leading end of the fresh web. The tape has a further coating of adhesive on the back side, by which it is glued to the end of the taut outermost turn of the coil. The adhesive can be in longitudinal strips along the edges, with those on one side narrower than those on the other one.
