[origin: EP0580274A2] A method which uses a printing device (1) of a franking module for an internal cost-centre printout, and arrangement consisting of a control unit (6) connected to input/output means (2, 3, 4) and to storage means (5, 8, 9, 10, 11), of a coat generator with tape release (12) and a pixel memory (7) which is connected to the control unit (6) and has a number of separate storage areas from which the print control unit (14) reads out print pattern data block by block in accordance with the charging data. According to the invention, a means for orthogonal pixel storage array rotation (15) and at least one storage area for charging data in the pixel memory (7) are provided, into which memory data are loaded with conversion and/or from which data are read out with conversion. By this means, a print pattern present in k blocks is rotated block by block in the direction of printing in such a manner that the rows become columns and conversely, k blocks containing charging data of cost centres, the first block of an available print pattern additionally exhibiting an identification and the last block of a print pattern exhibiting an addition of the charging data. <IMAGE>
