[origin: WO9218288A1] The invention provides an adjustable spanner having one fixed jaw (11) and one movable jaw (12), the fixed jaw being mounted on or formed integrally with the body or handle (10) of the spanner, and the movable jaw being arranged to slide in the body or handle of the spanner relative to the fixed jaw; in which the movable jaw (12) is provided with a first set of serrations (15) and a locking member (17) provided with a second set of serrations (16) is movably mounted in the body of the spanner to move between a locking position in which said second set of serrations engage wih said first set of serrations to lock the movable jaw (12) in an operative position, and a release position in which the second set of serrations are clear of said first set of serrations to allow adjusting movement of the movable jaw; wherein releasable locking means (21) is provided for locking the locking member (17) positively in said locking position.

Clé réglable possédant un mors fixe (11) et un mors mobile (12), le mors fixe étant monté sur le corps ou le manche (10) ou formé en une seule pièce avec celui-ci, et le mors mobile étant conçu pour se déplacer dans le corps ou le manche en coulissant par rapport au mors fixe. Le mors mobile (12) est pourvu d'un premier ensemble de dentelures (15), et un élément de blocage (17) pourvu d'un second ensemble de dentelures (16) est monté mobile dans le corps de la clé de manière à pouvoir se déplacer entre une position de blocage dans laquelle ledit second ensemble de dentelures se met en prise avec ledit premier ensemble de dentelures afin de bloquer le mors mobile (12) dans une position voulue, et une position de déblocage dans laquelle ledit second ensemble de dentelures s'écarte dudit premier ensemble de dentelures afin de permettre le réglage du mors mobile, un dispositif de blocage et de déblocage (21) étant prévu pour bloquer de manière positive l'élément de blocage (17) dans sa position de blocage.
