Vorgeschlagen wird ein Schiffskran, insbesondere zum Transportieren, Heben und Senken von Paletten, die vorzugsweise in einem mit dem Hubwerk verbundenen Korb angeordnet sind, wobei die Kran-konstruktion quer zur Schiffslängsrichtung auf Fahrbahnen oder dergleichen bewegbar ist und der die Paletten, insbesondere den Korb aufnehmende Bereich der Krankonstruktion, einschließlich der jeweiligen Ladeluke und des Verschiebeweges von einem im wesentlichen allseitigen Wetterschutz umgeben ist. <IMAGE>
