Abstract (en)
To manufacture an article made of composite material with an inorganic matrix, a flexible film (18) is first of all produced, made of outspread rovings (10) of parallel filaments (11) coated with a material capable of forming the matrix, these filaments being joined by a rigidified provisional binder such as polystyrene. Sheets cut from the flexible film (18) are then draped to form a stack (20) from which a preform (24) is produced, whose thickness and shape are intermediate between those of the stack (20) and those of the article (26) to be produced. Lastly, the preform (24) is subjected to a final thermomechanical cycle making it possible to obtain the article (26) and to decompose the provisional binder. To produce the preform (24) the stack is heated to a temperature of adhesive bonding of the provisional binder, is subjected to a mechanical compacting and/or shaping action and is cooled until the binder hardens, while the mechanical action is maintained. <IMAGE>

Pour fabriquer une pièce en matériau composite à matrice non organique, on réalise tout d'abord un film souple (18), formé de mèches étalées (10) de filaments parallèles (11) revêtus d'un matériau apte à former la matrice, ces filaments étant reliés par un liant provisoire rigidifié, tel que du polystyrène. On drape ensuite des nappes découpées dans le film souple (18), pour former un empilement (20) à partir duquel on réalise une préforme (24) dont l'épaisseur et la forme sont intermédiaires entre celles de l'empilement (20) et celles de la pièce (26) à réaliser. Enfin, on soumet la préforme (24) à un cycle thermomécanique final permettant d'obtenir la pièce (26) et de dégrader le liant provisoire. Pour réaliser la préforme (24), on chauffe l'empilement jusqu'à une température de collage du liant provisoire, on le soumet à une action mécanique de compactage et/ou de formage, et on le refroidit jusqu'au durcissement du liant, tout en maintenant l'action mécanique. <IMAGE>
