A threaded drive spindle (5), which is used to actuate the clamping force amplifier and is guided, for its part, in a hollow fast-motion spindle (4), carries on its circumference a radial projection (13) which is assigned stop pieces (18.1 to 18.4) which are arranged along the helical adjustment path traversed by the stop projection (13) upon rotation of the threaded drive spindle (5) in such a way that they are firmly held by an adjusting sleeve (21), depending on its presetting, either protruding into the adjustment path (14) so that they restrict by bearing on the stop projection (13), or are released for radial displacement, so that they can allow the stop projection (13) to pass. <IMAGE>
