[origin: EP0582900A2] A working area luminaire is presented by means of which it is possible to be able to change the lamp in the de-energised state of the mount without prior disconnection of the power supply. For this purpose, the lamp cap (21) and the lamp (20) form a structural unit which is held in an easily detachable way in the luminaire housing (8, 11). The lamp cap (21) is provided with electrical sliding-action contacts (25) which cooperate with corresponding mating contacts (24) in the luminaire housing in such a way that when the structural unit is inserted into the housing (8, 11) contacting takes place automatically, and when it is detached disconnection of the electrical contacts (24, 25) takes place automatically. <IMAGE>
