[origin: EP0583223A1] A crimping tool (40) for a compression device for crimping and connecting electrical conductors, especially multicore cables, to electrical plugs, especially of screened TM (telephone modular) plugs, makes it possible to bend the housing lugs of the TM plug around in one operation with centring, compression and crimping, during one stroke of the compression device. A downwardly pointing plunger rod (82) is arranged on an upper tool plate (44) of the crimping tool (40) in order to bend the screening lugs of the plug around, which plunger rod (82) is guided with respect to a lever arm (84') of a two-armed lever (84, 84', 84'') which moves in the rotation point (86), and a bending die (stamp) (88) which engages in the opposing arm lever (84'') is constructed such that it can be pressed against the plug lugs. This obviates a compression device which would otherwise additionally be necessary and an additional tool, as a result of which the processing and ancillary times can be considerably reduced in addition to the saving of investment and wage costs. <IMAGE>
