[origin: EP0584056A1] The invention relates to a container for welding wire, in particular for automatic welding machines. For improved controllability of the respective supply, to achieve a space-saving stackability of the empty containers, and to ensure an unimpeded provision of wire, provision is made according to the invention for the holding or supporting part (3) of the receiver (1) to be formed by means of at least three rod-like elements (31) or profiles. Furthermore, provision may be made according to the invention for the annular disc-shaped covering part (5), through which the welding wire (63) is delivered, to be designed to project circumferentially at least partially or in some places over the cross-section or the end face of the wire coil (6). <IMAGE>
