[origin: EP0584706A2] A tool for striking and/or drilling for portable handtools is proposed which can be employed universally in most common tool holders and in this case makes possible torque transmission which is gentle on material. A rotary driving slot (12, 13) is arranged in the tool shank in each case to the left and right of a mid-plane (11). The rotary driving slots are of different width and of different depth and are arranged asymmetrically to one another. From the mid-plane (11) is cut a locking groove (4), into which a spherical or cylindrical locking body of a tool-holding fixture (26) can be inserted. <IMAGE>
