The support of the board in the frame corresponds to the form of the boards and the board rests exclusively on the supporting edge (10) of the frame. By providing the frame with at least three legs, a table is obtained. The frame with the board may also be laid on consoles or the like or be used as an intermediary board between two such tables. The board is retained in the frame by its own weight. In order to secure it further, however, against falling out or removal, the board (2), in particular a table top, carries an elastic, locking member (12), which can be opened, on at least two approximately opposite edges (11) or edge parts.
