Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0585576A1] The invention relates to a punching machine in which the workpiece (17) is mounted on a mounting plate (1) of a work table or the like and can be displaced there relative to the tool (21), it being possible to punch a plurality of openings or holes (18) one behind the other into the workpiece by means of at least one hole punch (21) which can be moved vertically downwards and, during and after the punching operation, enters a corresponding recess in a die (20), the punch and the die forming between them a cutting edge which cuts out the opening or hole from the workpiece. This punching machine is to be designed in such a way that stepwise displacement of the workpiece to the location of the next punched hole can be performed effortlessly and, in particular, automatically despite the relatively severe burr formation which may occur. For this purpose, the invention envisages that the workpiece should be subjected to an upward stroke (19) relative to the die before and during the displacement following a preceding punching operation.
