A chair (10) has a guide arrangement (14) which guides a height-adjustable part (23) serving to fix its backrest (25). Located in the central region of the guide arrangement (14) is a guide opening (28) for longitudinal guidance of a force application member (34) which is connected to the height-adjustable part (23) and acts on the one toggle lever arrangement (44). The latter is assigned an actuating member (48) which can be actuated by the user of the chair (10) for the purpose of adjusting the toggle lever arrangement (44). <IMAGE>

Ein Stuhl (10) hat eine Führungsanordnung (14), welche ein höhenverstellbares Teil (23) führt, das zur Befestigung seiner Rückenlehne (25) dient. Im Mittelbereich der Führungsanordnung (14) befindet sich eine Führungsausnehmung (28) zur Längsführung eines Kraftangriffsglieds (34), das mit dem höhenverstellbaren Teil (23) verbunden ist und an dem eine Kniehebelanordnung (44) angreift. Letzterer ist ein Betätigungsglied (48) zugeordnet, das vom Benutzer des Stuhls (10) zwecks Verstellung der Kniehebelanordnung (44) betätigbar ist. <IMAGE>
