[origin: EP0585775A1] Heat exchangers which are constructed as downdraught radiators for engine cooling, and in which a balancing chamber is divided off in the upper header vessel from the coolant reservoir by a partition, can be filled with the coolant only with great difficulty after being produced. It is proposed to provide the partition (15) with an opening (22) on the side opposite the filler pipe (neck) (31), and to bridge the interspace between the filler pipe and opening by means of a connecting piece (29) which is inserted in the form of an insert in guide devices (26) of the partition (15).
