[origin: JPH06178960A] PURPOSE: To hold a parallel and exact spacing between a coating device and an applicator roll for allowing a supporting material sheet to travel by fixing runners pressed under pressure to the applicator roll near both end faces of the coating device. CONSTITUTION: The coating device 1 has the runners 4 respectively near its both end faces. The runners 4 respectively have sliding coaters 2 as gliding rollers and come into contact with the outer flanks of the applicator roll 3. When the pressure F is applied on the coating device 1 from its rear side, the rubbers 4 are pressed to the applicator roll 3 and an initial stress is applied thereon. The coating device 1 deposits a liquid layer on the sheet type supporting material 9 and travels on the applicator roll 3 by constituting a strip with which the supporting material 9 is coated. As a result, the spacing between the applicator roll 3 and the coating device 1 is held constant and, therefore, the coating gap of the coating device 1 with respect to opposing lead wires is held always parallel and at a faithful size.
