Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0586342A1] The method for advancing two or more rods (8) against a resistance, such as is typically necessary in dispensing devices for multicomponent dispensing cartridges (4), consists in grasping the advance rods (8) in a slide block (26) of clamping levers (30, 31) and then advancing further with the slide block (26). The advance rods (8) pass through guides in the slide block (26) on both sides of the respective clamping lever (30, 31) and through a bore (43, 44) in the clamping lever (30, 31). By means of a transmission, offset with respect to the bore (43, 44), of the advance motion to the clamping levers (30, 31), the latter are rotated so as to be perpendicular to the bore (43, 44), the advance rods (8) being clamped in the bore (43, 44) and carried along. The clamping levers (30, 31) are arranged such that the clamping torques are essentially equal in opposite directions, as a result of which there is no torque, overall, on the slide block (26). In addition, means are available for always grasping both advance rods simultaneously and as accurately as possible independently of the operating play or wear. The process serves in particular for advancing the advance rods (8) in a manual dispensing device for dispensing cartridges (4) even for mixing ratios far removed from 1:1. <IMAGE>
