The invention relates to a device for measuring out coating composition on to a running web of material, especially paper or cardboard, having a doctor knife element (4, 4'), in which there is provided a guiding element (3, 3', 3''), which forms at the web of material a return channel (15, 15', 15'') having a guiding face (9, 9', 9'') for excess coating composition and, in its region close to the doctor blade element (4, 4'), forms at a tip (5, 5', 5'') and an edge parallel to the doctor blade element (4, 4') a gap (8, 8', 8'') at the transition to a pressure space (13, 13', 13'') formed at the doctor knife element (4, 4'). A feed channel (2, 2', 2'') for coating composition is provided on the side of the guiding element (3, 3', 3'') which is facing the doctor knife element (4, 4'). The invention is characterised in that the return channel (15, 15', 15'') serves as an expansion space for excess coating composition and in that, as the doctor knife element, there is provided a circular-cylindrical doctor knife bar (4') or a coating blade (4) with an angle of application against the web of material or mating roll of at most 20 DEG . <IMAGE>

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Einrichtung zum Vordosieren von Streichmasse auf eine laufende Warenbahn, insbesondere aus Papier oder Karton, mit einem Rakelelement (4, 4'), bei der ein Leitkörper (3, 3', 3'') vorgesehen ist, der an der Warenbahn einen Rücklaufkanal (15, 15', 15'') mit einer Leitfläche (9, 9', 9'') für überschüssige Streichmasse und in seinem dem Rakelelement (4, 4') nahen Bereich an einer Spitze (5, 5', 5'') bzw. einer zum Rakelelement (4, 4') parallelen Kante einen Spalt (8, 8', 8'') am Übergang zu einem am Rakelelement (4, 4') gebildeten Druckraum (13, 13', 13'') bildet, wobei ein Zufuhrkanal (2, 2', 2'') für Streichmasse auf der Seite des Leitkörpers (3, 3', 3'') vorgesehen ist, die dem Rakelelement (4, 4') zugewandt ist. Die Erfindung ist dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der Rücklaufkanal (15, 15', 15'') als Entspannungsraum für überschüssige Streichmasse dient und daß als Rakelelement ein kreiszylindrischer Rakelstab (4') oder eine Streichklinge (4) mit einem Anliegewinkel an der Warenbahn bzw. Gegenwalze von höchstens 20° vorgesehen ist. <IMAGE>
