[origin: EP0586871A1] This valve drive comprises a valve (6) and a compression spring (11) which is intended to move the latter into a closed end position and is supported against a spring plate (12). To reduce the valve-drive masses, the weights of the valve, the compression spring and the spring plate, at least, are optimised. The spring plate consists of plastic and has portions of wider cross-section to allow it to accept the loads which occur. <IMAGE>
