Cylinder for hydraulic and/or pneumatic installations, in particular for motor vehicles, consisting of a housing (6) with an axial bore in which a piston (1) is guided in an axially displaceable manner and is acted upon at one end face (7) by hydraulic fluid, the cylinder being provided with connections for at least one pressure-medium line, and the piston (1) having a groove ring (2) for sealing. To improve the efficiency and reduce the friction, the piston (1) is provided with a slide ring (3) on its outer surface between the groove ring (2) and its end face (7) running on the pressure side. The slide ring (3) prevents canting of the piston (1) and brings about a pressure reduction relative to the groove ring (2). <IMAGE>

Zylinder für hydraulische und/oder pneumatiche Anlagen, insbesondere für Kraftfahrzeuge, bestehend aus einem Gehäuse (6) mit einer axialen Bohrung, in der ein Kolben (1) axial verschiebbar geführt und auf der einen Stirnseite (7) mit hydraulischer Flüssigkeit beaufschlagt ist, wobei der Zylinder mit Anschlüssen für mindestens eine Druckmittelleitung versehen ist und wobei der Kolben (1) zur Abdichtung einen Nutring (2) aufweist. Zur Wirkungsgradverbesserung und zur Reibungsreduzierung ist der Kolben (1) auf seiner Außenfläche zwischen dem Nutring (2) und seiner druckseitig verlaufenden Stirnseite (7) mit einem Gleitring (3) versehen. Der Gleitring (3) verhindert ein Verkanten des Kolbens (1) und bewirkt einen Druckabbau gegenüber dem Nutring (2). <IMAGE>
