In a surface maintenance machine, in particular a surface-cleaning machine, with a machine body (1) which has an operating and controlling unit in its rear region, and with a plurality of wheels (7, 8) which support said machine body on the surface, there is provided on the machine body (1), in the rear region thereof, a seating arrangement (12) comprising a seat (17) and a supporting unit. In this arrangement, the seat (17) is articulated on the machine body (1) by means of the supporting unit comprising at least one supporting arm (13) to be adjustable in position in such a way that it is movable between a rest position and a working position (AS). Furthermore, at least one (8) of the wheels is steerable, at least when the seat is in its working position (AS), by means of a steering device (27) provided on the operating and controlling unit. The at least one supporting arm (13) is articulated on the machine body (1) to be pivotable about a horizontal axis, and the seat (17) is articulated on the at least one supporting arm by means of a joint (15) to be pivotable about a horizontal axis. <IMAGE>

Bei einer Bodenbearbeitungsmaschine, insbesondere Bodenreinigungsmaschine, mit einem Maschinenkörper (1), der in seinem hinteren Bereich eine Bedien- und Kontrolleinheit aufweist, und mit einer Mehrzahl von diesen auf dem Boden abstützenden Rädern (7, 8) ist am Maschinenkörper (1) in dessen hinterem Bereich eine Sitzeinrichtung (12) vorgesehen, welche einen Sitz (17) und eine Trageinheit umfaßt. Dabei ist der Sitz (17) mittels der mindestens einen Tragarm (13) umfassenden Trageinheit in der Weise lageveränderbar an dem Maschinenkörper (1) angelenkt, daß er zwischen einer Ruhestellung und einer Arbeitsstellung (AS) bewegbar ist. Ferner ist mindestens eines (8) der Räder zumindest dann, wenn sich der Sitz in seiner Arbeitsstellung (AS) befindet, mittels einer an der Bedien- und Kontrolleinheit vorgesehenen Lenkeinrichtung (27) lenkbar. Der mindestens eine Tragarm (13) ist um eine horizontale Achse schwenkbar an dem Maschinenkörper (1) angelenkt, und der Sitz (17) ist mittels eines Gelenkes (15) um eine horizontale Achse schwenkbar an dem mindestens einen Tragarm angelenkt. <IMAGE>
