[origin: EP0587168A1] The device according to the invention is suitable for cleaning articles with liquefied or supercritical gases as cleaning fluids, a drum (2) being arranged rotatably and/or pivotably in a pressure-resistant vessel (1) and said drum (2) being connected to a drive device (3), and the vessel (1) being connected to a supply system for the cleaning fluid. In addition, the pressure-resistant vessel (1) may contain lock chambers for charging and emptying and heat exchangers (9) for temperature control. The cleaning fluid is suitably liquefied or supercritical carbon dioxide. Relatively small components can by this means be especially well cleaned of in particular organic soiling (greases, oils). <IMAGE>
