Abstract (en)
In the process for the thermal drying of sewerage sludges a sewerage sludge previously mechanically dewatered to 15% by weight to 30% by weight is continuously transported in a single pass, without partial return of dried material, through a self-cleaning paddle screw drier (11) having counter-rotating shafts (2, 3) at a rotary speed of 100 min<-1> to 600 min<-1>. The shafts (2, 3) of the drier are fitted out with paddle elements (7) in such a way that a milling gap of 1 mm to 10 mm is formed in an axial direction, in which the sewerage sludge is shredded and the capillary cells are broken up. Moreover, the drier throughput and the residence time in the paddle screw drier (11) at a heating medium temperature of 200 DEG C to 300 DEG C are set in such a way that the sewerage sludge is concentrated to form flowable granules having at least 50% by weight, preferably having 80% by weight to 95% by weight, of dry matter. <IMAGE>
Abstract (de)
Bei dem Verfahren zur thermischen Trocknung von Klarschlämmen wird ein vorher mechanisch auf 15 Gew.-% bis 30 Gew.-% entwässerter Klärschlamm in einem einzigen Durchlauf ohne Teilrückführung von getrocknetem Gut kontinuierlich durch einen selbstreinigenden Paddelschneckentrockner (11) mit gegensinnig rotierenden Wellen (2, 3) bei einer Drehzahl von 100 min<->¹ bis 600 min<->¹ gefördert. Die Wellen (2, 3) des Trockners sind derart mit Paddelelementen (7) bestückt, daß in axialer Richtung ein Mahlspalt von 1 mm bis 10 mm gebildet wird, indem der Klärschlamm zerrissen und die Kapillarzellen aufgebrochen werden. Außerdem wird die Trocknerleistung und die Verweilzeit im Paddelschneckentrockner (11) bei einer Heizmitteltemperatur von 200°C bis 300°C so eingestellt, daß der Klärschlamm zu einem rieselfähigen Granulat mit mindestens 50 Gew.-%, vorzugsweise mit 80 Gew.-% bis 95 Gew.-%, Trockensubstanz aufkonzentriert wird. <IMAGE>
