Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0588201A2] The invention relates to a high pressure discharge lamp and to a production method for a high pressure discharge lamp according to the invention. The lamp framework for holding the discharge vessel (4) in the outer bulb (1) consists essentially of two stamped sheet-metal parts (20, 21) which are electrically insulated from one another and partially surround the discharge vessel (4). The two stamped sheet-metal parts (20, 21) are produced from an initially integral, U-shaped stamped sheet-metal frame, which is cut off once the lamp electrical supply leads (7a, 7b) have been welded. In this way, adjustment and assembly of the discharge vessel (4) are simplified and eased. <IMAGE>
