[origin: WO9222617A1] Provided are novel phenolic-functional polyesters which are prepared by a direct polycondensation process. The polyesters formed therefrom are useful in enamel compositions and upon curing provide coatings which exhibit superior hardness, impact resistance and acid resistance heretofore unachievable with other polyester-based coatings.

L'invention décrit de nouveaux polyesters fonctionnels phénoliques préparés au moyen d'un processus direct de polycondensation. Ces polyesters sont efficaces dans des compositions d'émail et constituent en durcissant des revêtements présentant une extrême dureté et une résistance aux chocs et aux acides irréalisables jusqu'à maintenant avec d'autres revêtements à base de polyester.
