[origin: WO9318682A1] Attache cases and business cases in general typically have a portfolio section for organizing papers and a main packing section. Depending on the needs of the user, these portions can be selectively closed off. However, it is best that these sections are relatively accessible depending on whether the case is opened from the vertical position or whether the case is opened from the horizontal position. Accordingly, applicant has provided a portfolio catch system which, depending on the orientation of the case (10), holds the portfolio (20) in a closed position where the front (22) of the portfolio is attached to the lid portion (11) of the case (10), or in the alternative, if the case (10) is opened from the vertical position, the panel (22) is held to the base (14) of the case (10), thus preventing the contents of the base (14) from spilling and automatically permitting ready access to the contents of the portfolio (20). Also disclosed is a series of lid containers (13) and base containers (15) arrayed along the upper edge of the lid (11) and base (14) shells at the upper side of the case (10). These containers (13, 15) are readily accessible in all conditions of the case (10), and are especially accessible when the case is opened from the vertical position wherein access to the contents of the portfolio (20), as well as these lid and base containers (13, 15), can be readily had.

Généralement, les mallettes et les serviettes possèdent une partie porte-documents permettant la mise en ordre des papiers, et un partie principale de rangement. Ces parties peuvent se fermer de manière sélective en fonction des besoins de l'utilisateur. Cependant, il est souhaitable que ces parties soient relativement faciles d'accès selon que l'on ouvre la mallette lorsqu'elle se trouve en position verticale, ou qu'on l'ouvre lorsqu'elle se trouve en position horizontale. Par conséquent, on a mis au point un système de maintien du porte-documents en fonction de l'orientation de la mallette (10), lequel système maintient le porte-documents (20) dans une position fermée dans laquelle la face avant (22) du porte-documents est fixée au couvercle (11) de la mallette (10). Sinon, lorsque la mallette (10) se trouve dans une position verticale, ledit système maintient le volet (22) sur le fond (14) de la mallette (10), ce qui empêche les objets rangés dans le fond (14) de tomber en vrac et permet automatiquement d'accéder librement aux objets rangés dans le porte-documents (20). On a également mis au point une pluralité de récipients de couvercle (13) et de fond (15) disposés sur les bords supérieurs des coquilles du couvercle (11) et du fond (14) dans la partie supérieure de la mallette (10). Ces récipients (13, 15) sont faciles d'accès quelle que soit l'orientation de la mallette (10), et notamment lorsque la mallette se trouve dans sa position verticale dans laquelle tant le porte-documents (20) que les récipients de couvercle et de fond (13, 15) sont faciles d'accès.
