[origin: WO9321476A1] The feature of a process for regulating the burning of solid fuels in a combustion plant is that the low-temperature carbonisation gases occurring immediately above the burner outlet region are taken upwards along the inner wall (2) of the filler chamber (1) between the latter and the combustion chamber (3) and taken along the ceiling region of the filler chamber in the channels (14) between the outer wall (12) of the filler chamber and the furnace wall (13) in a descending flow to the incandescent bed. In a device for implementing the process, above the burner outlet (5) there is a covering (b) screening the aperture of the burner outlet against the passage of low-temperature carbonisation gases formed above the burner outlet and/or in the ceiling region of the filler chamber (1) there is a channel (19) which connects the upper region of the filler chamber to the channel(s) running between the filler chamber and the furnace walls and guides the low-temperature carbonisation gases formed immediately above the burner outlet in the descending current of combustion gas/air mixture into the channel(s). The filler chamber cover channel in the ceiling region of the filler chamber may be in communication with a fresh-air inlet (18) and/or the channel(s) between the filler chamber and the furnace walls may communicate with a fresh-air inlet.
