Abstract (en)

The turbocharger is intended for heavy fuel operation. It has an exhaust-gas turbine exposed to the erosive action of abrasive particles. An anti-erosion coating (16) is applied by a thermal spray process to at least one part of the surface of the exhaust-gas turbine free of protective coating. The said anti-erosion coating (16) contains carbides. Such a turbocharger is of simple construction and is characterised by a long service life and low maintenance requirement even if it is exposed in operation to a high concentration of abrasive particles. <IMAGE>

Abstract (de)

Der Turbolader ist für Schwerölbetrieb bestimmt. Er weist eine der erodierenden Wirkung abrasiver Teilchen ausgesetzte Abgasturbine auf. Auf mindestens einen Teil der schutzschichtfreien Oberfläche der Abgasturbine ist in einem thermischen Spritzverfahren eine Erosionsschutzschicht (16) aufgebracht. Diese Erosionsschutzschicht (16) enthält karbidische Hartstoffe. Ein solcher Turbolader ist einfach aufgebaut und zeichnet sich selbst dann durch eine hohe Lebensdauer und einen geringen Wartungsbedarf aus, wenn er im Betrieb einer hohen Konzentration an abrasiven Teilchen ausgesetzt ist. <IMAGE>
