[origin: EP0589404A1] In the method, an actuator (6) working in the gas stream is actuated depending upon a control pressure. The control pressure is compared with a set value. The action of the control pressure on the actuator (6) is switched off when the control pressure falls below the set value. A simple possibility is thus provided of shutting off the flow rapidly and safely. <IMAGE>
